My portfolio, "Along A Stormy Road", were captured during a trip through New York state. I In a car I feel encapsulated, protected from the world outside the vehicle. I ride, as a passenger on a journey. The world of cars and roads defines my life, I think it must for most people. I see the well kept homes of people that own land and then I see the homes of those less fortunate. Through glass as forty to seventy miles and hour I photograph the world of the roads I travel.
Vacant homes for sale elude to foreclosures, uncut grass and weed filled driveways convey neglect. There was a time when the vacant stores were viable businesses. Where did the wealth that fueled the rural economy go? This abuse of communities is not hard to see.
